In addition to the immediate surroundings of Samoens there are many places within an hours drive that are well worth visiting.

Chamonix.

Chamonix and Mont Blanc is France's second most visited tourist attraction after the Eiffel Tower in Paris. During the summer you can visit Mont Blanc by the cable car and see the spectacular glacier. There are many other attractions including a luge track. A visit to Chamonix is definatley a full day out.

Lake Geneva

Along the shores of Lake Geneva are some beautifal towns and villages including Yvoire a mediaval walled village and the famous town of Evian. Further round the lake is the town of Montreaux which has concerts on the shore of the lake.

Annecy

The town and the lake of Annecy is another place well worth a visit have lunch shop and relax by the lake.
